Provider: Data Orchard

Summary of project:

The Cart Shed uses the principles of Occupational Therapy in the context of the natural environment (woodland and horticulture) to transform lives. We support vulnerable and disadvantaged people to gain and retain better health and greater independence. Our service users include people with: mental health conditions (including psychosis, bi-polar disorder, depression, and anxiety); physical disabilities; and learning disabilities. We also support older people, those facing financial hardship and have specific programmes for: veterans and their families; children; and young people. We work outdoors year-round running therapeutic courses in coppicing, coppice crafts, green woodwork and horticulture.

This project is about focusing, aligning, and mobilising The Cart Shed’s staff, trustees and volunteers towards greater impact. It will create clarity and consistency about who we serve and how we make a difference. It will re-define our theoretical framework and build processes, tools, and capabilities around impact measurement. The grant will be used to commission Data Orchard to provide advice, support, training and guidance on how we measure and manage our impact.
